Sudha Manandi writes: I loved visiting a Kanakpura village near the city to organise an Eye Camp with children from four village schools. It was such fun watching 90 children and senior citizens too.
Various women-related topics were discussed. We spoke to them on various things the government has in place, such as favourable work conditions, adequate standards of living, physical and mental wellness and raising their voice against violence. We spoke to them about menstrual hygiene and various other health and issues
Women showed immense interest in setting up a small home-based business to be financially stable and conduct related vocational training.
We were glad to know that almost all of them have a bank account and a few have access to internet as well. We showed them how it can help them in their daily lives . Overall, a fantastic day well spent. We can proudly say that we could speak about sustainable development.
